This site is a tribute to Stephen Albert (February 6, 1941 –December 27, 1992), a Pulitzer Prize- and Grammy-winning composer who tragically died in an automobile accident at the age of 51.
His work is described as “powerful, dramatic, colorful, and deeply emotive.” While fully contemporary, his approach was rooted in traditional compositional techniques and used musical archetypes to touch basic human emotions.
